RENTAL INVENTORY
Most of the pedal harps available to rent are Lyon & Healy's or Wurlitzer's, in semi-grand or concert grand size. The semi-grands have 45 or 46 strings and either straight or extended soundboards. The concert grands have 47 strings. There are also some 36 string Swanson Lever Harps available to rent. These have Loveland levers on all of the strings. All of our harps are in very good to excellent condition.

ONE MONTH FREE RENT!!
Anyone who rents an instrument for 11 consecutive months will receive the 12th month free. HOWEVER, in order to receive this 12th month free, the renter must pay each month on time. Any rent received a week or more late will be considered delinquent and will disallow the free 12th month. To state this another way, if the rent is paid on time for 11 months, the renter will receive the 12th month free. Miss one payment or pay it late and the deal is off.
This free 12th month significantly reduces the monthly cost. If the renter is renting a straight soundboard harp at $160 per month for example, the free 12th month reduces the monthly cost to $147. A semi-grand rental at $190 per month is reduced to $174, and a concert grand, at $220 per month., is reduced to $201.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The minimum rental period is 3 months. After that, the harps are rented on a month to month basis. Two copies of a written contract will be mailed to the renter prior to picking up the harp or it being delivered. The renter will sign both copies of the contract and mail one signed copy back to us along with a check for the first three months rent. After the initial rental period is up, monthly rent is due at the beginning of the monthly rent cycle. In other words, if the rental is started on the 20th of the month, then rent is due on the 20th for the coming 30 day cycle. Bills are not sent out. But if we have the renters email address we can email a monthly reminder.
The renter must insure the instrument for fire, theft, and accidental damage during the time that he/she has the instrument. We prefer they insure with Anderson Insurance Company, which is the principal insurer of harps in the United States.
The harps may be used only for home use and occasional performance (church, school, recital, etc.) They may not be used for professional work.
The renter is responsible for replacing any broken strings at his/her expense while he/she has the instrument, and must replace them with the same kind of string(gut for gut, nylon for nylon).
If we are to deliver the harp to the renter, a transportation fee will be added. The fee will depend on the distance involved.
To summarize: The monthly rent will be between $160 and $220, depending on the instrument. Insurance on the instrument will cost an additional $125 per year. The renter can pick up the harp from my workshop in Boston, or we can deliver it to them, but there will be a transport fee in that case.
RENT-TO-BUY
We occasionally have used harps for sale. Some are rental instruments and others are not. If we decide to sell a rental instrument, there will be a clause in the contract stating that the harp is for sale and the sale price. There is never an obligation to buy, and the renter may rent the instrument as long as he/she wants. We will apply 5 months of paid rent towards the purchase of that instrument or any other instrument that we own and have for sale. But if the renter rents the harp for 3 years for example and then decides to buy, only 5 months of paid rent will apply to the purchase.
