RENTAL INVENTORY
We have a large selection of pedal harps of different sizes and of lever harps available to rent. The pedal harps are mostly Lyon & Healy and Wurlitzer. The lever harps are Lyon & Healy Troubadours and Swanson Lever Harps. All are 36 string instruments with Loveland levers on all strings. All of these pedal and lever harps are in excellent condition and are regulated each time they go out.
LONG TERM RENTALS
All harps, pedal and lever, are rented for a minimum of 3 months. After that 3 month period is up, the harp can be rented, by the month, for as long as you want.
If a harp is rented for 11 months and the rent is paid on time, then the 12th month is free!
There is usually a rent-to-buy option in the rental contract, in which up to 6 months of paid rent will be applied to purchase. This rent-to-buy option can be applied to the harp that is being rented if it is for sale, or to any other harp that is owned by Swanson Harp Company that is for sale.
WHY RENT?It’s the least expensive way of starting the harp! A monthly rental fee is a lot cheaper than buying an instrument. If you’re new to the harp, renting for a year or two before buying will make you much more knowledgeable about the harp so that you know what to look for when you do buy.
If a child is growing, it’s better to rent a harp appropriate to the child’s size and then buy a larger instrument later when the child is closer to adult size.
You may already have a harp. But if your child wants to play in the school orchestra, a rental instrument can be left at the school so that you don’t have to constantly move the instrument.
A child may start on a lever harp and then move on to pedal harp. This will likely involve several different sizes and types of harps. Renting is the perfect way of having the right size harp at the right time.
There is usually a rent-to-buy option in the rental contract. If you like the harp, you can buy it!

SHORT TERM RENTALS
Harps may be rented for periods shorter than 3 months. The charges will depend entirely on the circumstances of the rental.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Harps will only be rented within 250 miles of Boston, and only in the United States.
Delivery and pickup is at the renter's expense. We can deliver and pick up the instrument if needed. That charge will depend on the distance from Boston.
The renter must insure the rental harp with an agency that specializes in musical instrument insurance. That cost will likely run around $200 per year.
